Certified fitness trainer, boxing champion and yoga instructor Amanda Rose Walsh will host an eight-day wellness retreat for those seeking to enrich their yoga practice and immerse themselves in an eco-conscious lifestyle in the exotic, tropical beauty of Central America.
Amanda Rose Walsh has dedicated her career to personal health and fitness. After earning her professional accreditation as a certified personal trainer and a Masters Degree from Columbia University, she became proficient in a range of disciplines including power lifting, running, TRX and Pilates. Over a decade, Amanda trained hundreds of clients in two of the nation’s largest corporate gyms.
A visit to a boxing club inspired her to embrace the several years of intensive training required to compete in the ring. The highlight of her amateur boxing career was winning the 2008 New York Golden Gloves Championship at the famed Madison Square Garden. She hung up her gloves after acquiring an impressive amateur record of 8-4.
It was during Amanda’s subsequent travels to India and Thailand that she discovered her deep curiosity about and love for yoga as a science, philosophy and way of life. She gained extensive instruction abroad and now teaches students a fundamental and alignment-based approach to the mind-body-breath connection. Amanda’s transition from the gym to the boxing ring to the yoga mat has allowed her to apply the same principles of focus, dedication and commitment.
The retreat will be offered April 23 through April 30, 2016, at the spectacular El Coco Loco Resort, an all-inclusive property in northwest Nicaragua celebrated for its surf, yoga and community service.
“This is the perfect retreat for those looking to expand on the conventional resort visit,” explained Walsh. “It will blend yoga, surfing, meditation, a volcano visit, art, bonfires and even chocolate-making with gourmet vegetarian meals and the opportunity for community volunteerism. This will be the most restorative and energizing vacation you’ve ever experienced.”
Take advantage of Early Bird Specials until February 1, 2016, priced at $2,650 for single occupancy and $1,650 for quadruple occupancy.
The eight-day, seven-night retreat includes:
• Accommodations in an environmentally conscious resort

• Access to two yoga studios and all props, including mats and straps
